City of Boston settles for $4.7 million in police shooting of mentally ill Black man from 2016

Summary by Ground News
The City of Boston has agreed to a $4.7 million settlement in a federal civil rights lawsuit over the shooting of a mentally ill Black man by police in 2016. Most of that money will go to Hope Coleman, mother of Terrance Coleman, who was shot and killed by a Boston police officer in the foyer of his South End apartment building on Oct. 30, 2016. The settlement doesn't hold the city liable. But it does include $3.4 million for Hope Coleman's estate and takes into account her legal dues.
