CIA Gold Hoarder Linked to Trump's Deputy Defense Chief
Investigators found $40 million in gold bars, cash and luxury watches at David Rush’s home as he faces theft and fraud charges.
David Rush, a former CIA officer, was arrested for hoarding $40 million in gold bars, $2 million in cash, and luxury watches at his home in Virginia.
Rush worked with Stephen A. Feinberg, who served as chairman of the President's Intelligence Advisory Board during Trump's first term and is now Deputy Secretary of Defense.
Rush falsified parts of his academic and military background and was allowed to accumulate large amounts of gold and cash over several months without immediate detection.
The Senate Intelligence Committee and House Intelligence Committee are conducting oversight inquiries into the CIA's internal controls and security failures exposed by this case.
