A court in Tizi Ouzou, Algeria, is set to deliver a verdict on Wednesday in the appeal trial of French sports journalist Christophe Gleizes, who has been detained since June after being sentenced to seven years for 'glorifying terrorism'. The appeal hearing included his lawyers, family, and partner, with both his Algerian and French lawyers able to consult him beforehand.
This employee of So Foot and Society has been held in the country for 19 months and has been sentenced at first instance to seven years in prison for "apology of terrorism".
Journalist Christophe Gleizes, incarcerated for having been in contact with a leader of the Kabyle independent movement, was appearing this Wednesday on appeal.
