Taichung, July 6 (CNA) Police in Taichung have arrested a man suspected of assaulting Taipei-based Indo-Pacific Strategy Thinktank CEO Akio Yaita shortly after he delivered a lecture at a local hotel on Monday.
Akio Yaita, CEO of the Indo-Pacific Strategic Think Tank, was punched in the face by a man in black after a camp event in Taichung today. Police learned that a Chinese national surnamed Liao was attempting to leave the country with a Hong Kong passport and rushed to Taichung Airport to arrest Liao, who had changed his clothes and was preparing to fly to Busan, South Korea.
