Tibet government-in-exile to skip Nepal conference amid Chinese pressure
The Central Tibetan Administration has pulled out of the Kathmandu Tibetan studies conference after China raised concerns with Nepal. The move leaves registered Tibetan scholars free to attend privately while organisers press ahead with the academic event.
The Dalai Lama's government-in-exile will not send official representatives to the Tibet conference in Kathmandu, Nepal. The CTA, meanwhile, had planned to send five delegates from its think tank, the Tibet Policy Institute (TPI).
