- After a 67-minute first set that Djokovic won 7-6 , both players required medical treatment. The Australian needed an off-court timeout for a groin issue, while Djokovic requested a trainer for his physical struggles.
- Minaur retired after only one game of the second set, saying, "I want to say sorry to all the amazing fans that came to watch this match. I didn't want to finish like this."
