From 2026, Chile will adopt USB type C as a standard for electronic devices, promoting sustainability and waste reduction in households.
The entry into force for the obligations will be gradual. It will begin to apply from October 2026 to the new cell phones that are placed on the market, and in October 2028 for the rest of the regulated devices.
