2027 Chery Stockman: More Specifications Detailed for Diesel PHEV Ute
The diesel plug-in hybrid ute is claimed to tow 3,495kg and travel 96km on electric power, Chery said.
- Chery confirmed its upcoming Stockman diesel plug-in hybrid ute will reach Australian customers on February 1, 2027, with a braked towing capacity of 3495kg, falling just 5kg short of key rivals.
- As the Chery group's first ute in Australia, the Stockman combines a 2.5-litre turbo-diesel engine with an electric motor producing 350kW and 800Nm. This diesel PHEV powertrain positions it in the competitive mid-size dual-cab market.
- The Stockman Ultimate measures 5450mm long and offers 96km of WLTP-claimed electric range, providing a 765kg payload capacity. Standard equipment includes 17-inch alloy wheels, a 15.6-inch touchscreen, and comprehensive safety features.
- Chery has not disclosed pricing, though key Chinese rivals like the BYD Shark 6 Performance and GWM Cannon Alpha Ultra PHEV cost between $60,000 and $65,000. The Stockman's 3495kg towing capacity narrowly misses the 3500kg benchmark.
- A petrol plug-in hybrid powertrain will follow in the second half of 2027, producing 395kW and 1000Nm. The related F700 ute from incoming Jetour brand could arrive in Australia as soon as late 2027.
