Charleston Police Chief Luther Reynolds, diagnosed last year with a rare and aggressive form of cancer, returned to the department after a successful surgery which resulted in his right leg's amputation.
Charleston leaders welcoming back Chief Reynolds after battle with cancer
Charleston Police Chief Luther Reynolds is receiving a warm welcome back to his city on Monday afternoon. He lost his leg while receiving treatment for an aggressive form of cancer. At 12:30 p. m. , Charleston City Council and Mayor John Tecklenburg will welcome him back. Reynolds first shared his cancer diagnosis publicly last November. He has previously said he intends to return to his role as chief of police.
