Chapleau woman who killed newlywed husband sentenced to life

Jodi Wheeler, 58, of Chapleau, was sentenced in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Timmins on Thursday to life imprisonment for second degree murder. The court heard that Wheeler's victim, Leo Brunette, 62, died of  significant trauma to his skull caused by a baseball bat. Wheeler offered her apologies to the victim's family and urged them not to carry the burden of their hatred.
