The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carlo Espá, defended the recent designations of ambassadors and representatives to international organizations made by the Government and noted that these were carried out in accordance with Peruvian legislation. "Generally speaking, the law states that the President of the Republic, in accordance with the Constitution, is responsible for directing Peru's foreign policy, which is what President Fujimori does."
The chancellor stated that appointments such as that of former congressman Carlos Tubino in Argentina were received "with great pleasure" by the government of Javier Milei.
