According to the Chamber, these assets have the potential to accelerate the housing supply in Lisbon, notably through accessible housing projects. The press has advanced that the building capacity now assured could allow to create about 800 accessible income fires, although this number depends on the urban patterns applicable to each lot.
The Lisbon Chamber approved an agreement with SGAL to maintain in the municipal sphere land with high housing potential, with a construction capacity of more than 70,000 square meters.
According to the current executive of Carlos Moedas, the agreement reached with SGAL "allows to resolve a contractual dispute of decades".
The agreement follows the lead of the proposal to extend the inhominated contract concluded in December 1984 between the municipality of Lisbon and SGAL, for the urbanization and recovery of the degraded areas of Alto do Lumiar and the construction of houses for the City Hall
