Chainguard Joins FINOS to Accelerate Trusted Open Source Adoption for Financial Services in the AI Era
Chainguard will help FINOS members address AI-driven software risk and strengthen supply chain security for regulated financial institutions.
On Monday, Chainguard announced it joined the Fintech Open Source Foundation , the financial services vertical of the Linux Foundation, as a Gold Member.
Financial institutions face rising security risks as AI accelerates code production and vulnerability exploitation, prompting Gabriele Columbro, Executive Director of FINOS, to note that no single institution can solve these governance challenges alone.
Chainguard team members maintain and contribute to more than 100 widely used open source projects, including Kubernetes, Sigstore, and Tekton, while delivering hardened, production-ready builds for Fortune 500 enterprises.
Dan Lorenc, CEO and Co-founder of Chainguard, stated that "financial institutions cannot afford to build on software they can't trust," emphasizing the need for secure foundations as AI agents scale.
Chainguard continues its work on the EmeritOSS program launched last year to maintain mature open source projects and recently introduced DriftlessAF to help organizations improve software delivery consistency.
