Environmental organizations presented yesterday to the Constitutional Court (TC) their objections to the environmental provisions included in the draft Law on National Reconstruction and Economic and Social Development, known as “megarreform” or “Miscellaneous Law” (Bulletin No. 18.216-05). The body allowed interested civil society organizations to provide background on the legal and concrete effects that the contested norms could generate.
The environmental organization Center for the Study and Defense of Wild Birds (CEYDAS) questioned the fact that the tender specifications do not explicitly include requirements related to source separation, differentiated collection, and material recovery. It warned that the failure to incorporate these aspects could represent a setback for Integrated Solid Waste Management (GIRSU), according to information sent to DIARIOJUNIO.
