Since July, Ukrainian attacks on Turkish ships trading with Russia in the Black Sea have been increasing, raising the fury of some of the opinion and concern of professionals in the sector.
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz stated that the increasing attacks in the Black Sea pose a serious risk to navigation safety and global food security. Yılmaz emphasized that Türkiye is working to re-establish safe navigation.
In the Black Sea, where tensions have escalated due to the Russia-Ukraine war, nearly 50 Turkish ships have been targeted in attacks over the past 4.5 years. Former Director General of Maritime Transport, Deniz Vank, called for the closure of the strait.
