Cereals Canada Releases 2025 New Wheat Crop Report

Technical data show good test weights and higher thousand kernel weights for Western composites, strong Eastern winter wheat yields after favourable weather, and protein content comparable to average this year.
The report signals Canadian farmers grew 36.6 million tonnes in 2025, with Cereals Canada planning outreach to twenty-nine countries that purchased $8.2 billion in 2024.
Cereals Canada framed the findings as `This was a milestone year for Cereals Canada`, said Elaine Sopiwnyk, vice president of technical services, with the report prepared annually alongside the Canadian Grain Commission and value chain members to support trade, science and sustainability.
