China Reaffirms Unwavering Support for Pakistan, Pledges Stronger Strategic Partnership
Munir praised the PLA and said Pakistan and China will deepen defence, diplomatic and economic cooperation despite shifting regional and global challenges.
On Saturday, Field Marshal Asim Munir hosted a ceremony at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi marking the 99th anniversary of China's People's Liberation Army founding.
Munir described the Pakistan-China friendship as "unique, time-tested and steadfast despite evolving regional and global challenges," emphasizing the two nations remain true partners bound by mutual trust.
Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong acknowledged the Pakistan Armed Forces' "significant contributions and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism" and reaffirmed China's unwavering support for Pakistan.
Both nations maintain close cooperation in various sectors, with companies signing pharmaceutical agreements worth $850 million last month, reflecting deepened engagement between Islamabad and Beijing.
Beijing and Islamabad agreed earlier this year to accelerate work on CPEC 2.0 and deepen their "All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership" while maintaining close coordination on regional issues.
