The Philippine Department of Agriculture (DA) has temporarily banned the importation of live cattle and water buffalo — along with their products and by-products — from France and Italy after confirmed outbreaks of Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) in the two countries.
MANILLA, 11 August (Xinhua) — The Philippines has imposed a temporary ban on imports of cattle and buffalo from France and Italy after outbreaks of contagious nodular dermatosis (CND) have been confirmed in both countries, the Philippine Ministry of Agriculture announced on Monday. The ban, included in the circulars issued on 1 August by the Ministry, also concerns embryos and seeds.
