Case Keenum starts at quarterback for the Bears before Tyson Bagent takes over after 1 play
Tyson Bagent took over after one play as Chicago adjusted again at quarterback following Caleb Williams’ hamstring injury.
On Sunday, Oct. 4, Chicago Bears quarterback Case Keenum started against the New York Jets but was replaced by Tyson Bagent after one play.
Bears coach Ben Johnson has been rotating quarterbacks since Caleb Williams sustained a right hamstring injury during the team's 9-3 loss to Minnesota on Sept. 20.
Keenum handed off to running back Andre Swift for a 2-yard gain on the first play; Bagent then completed passes for 62 yards on the ensuing drive.
Coach Johnson defended the rotation, saying, "I feel really good about all three quarterbacks in that room," and stressed all three can win games.
Keenum recently led the Bears to a 27-7 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, while Bagent signed a two-year contract extension in August 2025.
