Carmel wins lawsuit against ‘unconstitutional’ income-tax law

Summary by Ground News
Carmel won a victory in its lawsuit against three state financial departments related to an income-tax law. The lawsuit centered on a law signed by the governor four years ago, which city officials in Carmel said prevented the city from receiving millions of dollars in income tax revenue. House Bill 1113 in 2020 prevented Carmel from exceeding a 2.5% increase in annual income tax growth for three years between 2021 and 2024.
