Caribbean resort owned by Bill Gates being sued for $100M: Report
Owners say the resort has deteriorated despite more than $20 million in fees and seek over $100 million in damages.
On Tuesday, August 11, 2026, the Four Seasons Resorts Nevis homeowners association filed a lawsuit in Delaware Chancery Court against Nevis Peak Holdings, seeking over $100 million in damages for alleged long-term neglect.
Homeowners allege Nevis Peak failed to rebuild the golf pro shop and fitness center destroyed in an October 2022 fire, while violating a 2013 settlement agreement that promised financial transparency and semiannual meetings.
Residents claim they paid over $20 million in management fees since 2013 and invested $1.4 million of their own money into electrical repairs, while paying $100,000 entry fees and $13,000 annually for the deteriorating resort.
A spokesperson for Cascade Asset Management, Bill Gates's family office, stated the firm intends to "vigorously defend itself against the claims, which it believes are entirely without merit."
The lawsuit highlights wealth disparity, as Gates holds a $108 billion net worth while homeowners struggle with secondhand transformers and infrastructure failures that they argue threaten property values and resort enjoyment.
