When the first rescue forces arrived, the vehicle was already completely underwater. As there was a risk that the car would be driven off by the current, the rescue of the water together with the fire brigade and the workers' Samaritan pool secured the passenger car. An emergency diver also descended into the Salzach to install additional fuses and tools. With a winch and a crane, the car was finally pulled out of the river.
