The finalist will visit campus April 6-7 and the university will publish the candidate profile and itinerary in its employee newsletter Friday.
- On Friday, the University of Montana and the Montana Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education named Boise State University interim president Jeremiah Shinn as the presidential finalist.
- The search follows the resignation of eight-year University of Montana President Seth Bodnar earlier this year, who stepped down to pursue public service and is running for U.S. Senate as an independent.
- Montana Commissioner of Higher Education Clayton Christian oversaw the expedited search process, which attracted more than 60 applicants before Shinn emerged as the sole finalist.
- Shinn will visit the Missoula campus on Monday, April 6, and Tuesday, April 7, to participate in meetings, an open forum, and a community reception.
- "Your participation is vital in helping us determine our next steps and shape our final recommendation to the Board of Regents," Christian wrote, encouraging broad community involvement in the selection process.
