- Paquet was 12th after the swim, moved up to eighth after the bike segment, and kept pace with the leaders until the last 400 metres where the top two surged ahead.
- He is only the second Canadian man to win a WTCS medal, following Tyler Mislawchuk's third-place finish in 2019 in Montreal.
