Kanta Nakano defeats Hyoga Ota in Tokyo heavyweight final
As a symbol of the impressive results of the Japanese squad at this grand slam, Team Japan qualified two more athletes for the final: Hyoga Ota and Kanta Nakano. The former, already the holder of three gold medals from grand slams, was looking for a 4th title, while for the latter it could be his first gold medal.
