Cal gets ready for 1st season under coach Tosh Lupoi with QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele at the helm

On Wednesday, California kicks off its first fall camp under new head coach Tosh Lupoi, exactly one month before the season opener against UCLA at Memorial Stadium.
First-Year coach Lupoi overhauled the roster with more than 30 transfers to address a decade of inconsistency, after the Golden Bears won more than seven games just once in the past 10 seasons.
Sophomore quarterback Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele returns after throwing for 3,454 yards last year, joined by new transfers wide receivers Ian Strong, Chase Hendricks, and Cooper Perry.
Cornerback Ricky Fletcher, who transferred from Ole Miss, expressed confidence in the new direction: "I think we can be as good as we want to be." Fletcher credited the coaching staff and veteran transfers.
Lupoi, a Cal alum, aims to restore the program's past success as the Golden Bears prepare for 12 regular-season games in their third season in the ACC.
