Best Western’s Parent Changes Its Name Again: From BWH to WorldHotels

The rebrand keeps 18 hotel brands unchanged while combining the loyalty programs into one platform with more than 70 million members.

  • On Tuesday, BWH Hotels announced it is renaming itself WorldHotels, unifying its global portfolio of more than 4,000 properties across 18 brands while merging its two loyalty programs into WorldHotels Rewards effective January 5, 2027.
  • CEO Larry Cuculic noted the company has "evolved faster than public awareness," and research indicated many travelers are only aware of a portion of the portfolio's offerings, prompting the rebrand to create greater clarity.
  • The company launched a digital discovery platform built from more than 10,000 hours of insights gathered from hotel teams worldwide, collecting around 21,500 insider tips to enhance guest discovery across the portfolio.
  • Existing branding and signage for properties, including Best Western, will remain unchanged, while the new WorldHotels Rewards program introduces three membership tiers and preserves all current member benefits, including points that never expire.
  • WorldHotels will announce additional details regarding membership tiers and benefits on November 16, 2026, communicating the updates directly to existing loyalty members first before broader release.
