JD Sports will enable one-click purchases on AI platforms like Microsoft Copilot, targeting shoppers aged 18–24 and partnering with Commercetools and Stripe for payments.
- JD Sports Fashion said on Monday US customers will search and buy products via AI platforms, starting with Microsoft Copilot before extending to leading large language models.
- Seeing current customer behaviour, JD says customers using AI apps research and discover products, and Jetan Chowk, JD's chief technology & transformation officer, views AI as the future of shopping.
- With a US footprint of over 2,500 stores, JD has partnered with commercetools and Stripe to enable one-click purchases through AI platforms, where the US accounts for over 40 per cent of global sales.
- The announcement positions JD Sports Fashion as a leader in digital retail, with Regis Schultz saying it strengthens the group's digital proposition and improves customer experience amid growing AI use.
- Looking toward expansion, the JD group plans to launch the technology in the US in the coming months and issue a January 21 trading update while adapting to policymakers and regulatory environments in other countries.
