It will be easier for EU citizens and Swiss to take a job in Europe. The EU therefore wants to standardise professions and thus deepen the internal market.
It should be easier for citizens of EU countries to work in another Member State. To this end, the European Commission will make a series of legislative proposals on Tuesday to make (social) insurance and, for example, diplomas easier to recognize in another Member State.
The aim is to simplify the cross-border transfer of social rights, professional qualifications and competences
The European Commission has proposed this Tuesday to reduce from four months to a maximum of eleven weeks the procedures for recognising the qualifications necessary to pursue regulated professions in another Member State, within a package of measures with which Brussels seeks to make it easier for workers to move to another European Union country and practice their profession there.
