BRUNSWICK COUNTY — A Southport hospital has been awarded a grant from Louis Bacon’s Orton Foundation. $25,000 was given to Dosher Memorial Hospital, to be used to advance the hospital’s emergency department. Transport stretchers, IV poles, and bedside procedure stands will be purchased with the grant. The emergency department of Dosher Memorial Hospital treats more than 13,000 area patients yearly.
