Bruckner Steps Up as Managing Partner at McFarland Group
John Bruckner will oversee operations and client direction after four years leading the firm’s mergers and acquisitions advisory work, the company said.
On September 13, 2026, The McFarland Group appointed John Bruckner as Managing Partner, formalizing a role he has held in practice for years at the Omaha-based M&A advisory firm.
Bruckner has led the firm's M&A advisory work for the past four years and worked alongside founder Byron McFarland for more than a decade, establishing deep operational continuity.
Over two decades, the firm has guided more than $3 billion in business value through over 200 ownership transitions, serving closely held businesses via M&A advisory, management buyouts, and performance equity plans.
Bruckner stated that "most owners sell a business once" and deserve "advisors who are not in a hurry," emphasizing his commitment to maintaining the firm's patient approach as it grows.
Engagements remain senior-led, ensuring the appointment does not alter day-to-day client relationships while Bruckner carries responsibility for both operations and client-facing direction.
