Brothers, 8 and 5, Killed in Crash as Parents Pay Heartfelt Tribute
Police say a local man in his 60s was arrested after the crash, which left two women injured and one hospitalized with serious injuries.
Tobias Rice, 8, and his 5-year-old brother Finley died following a multi-vehicle collision on the A30 near Connor Downs on May 29, while travelling from Dorset to St Ives during half-term.
Police arrested a man in his 60s on suspicion of causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving; he was released under investigation as inquiries continue.
Headteacher Simon Croutear of Priory CE Primary School said the boys were "cherished members of our school family" and that the community has been "shocked and grieved by the tragic loss of Tobias and Finley."
The boys' parents expressed gratitude to emergency services and the NHS in the South West, stating both were "full of life and energy and enjoying life to the full, through their love of school and scouting."
Detective Inspector Andy Heath from Devon and Cornwall Police said "further information will be released at the appropriate time" as specially trained officers continue supporting the family during the investigation.
