Robert Gasser Nearly Perfect as Brewers Take 3-0 World Series Lead
The rookie left-hander allowed one hit and one walk as Milwaukee moved within one win of its first championship.
On Monday, the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 10-1 in Game 3 of the World Series in St. Petersburg, Florida, pushing the club to the brink of its first championship.
Pitcher Robert Gasser, a 27-year-old rookie, joined Milwaukee from San Diego in 2022 but struggled to regain form following Tommy John surgery in 2024 until late this season.
Facing the minimum over six innings, Gasser became the first starter since Curt Schilling in 2001 to achieve the feat in a World Series game; Sandy Koufax last did it as a lefty in 1965.
The victory marked the Brewers' fourth consecutive road postseason win, effectively ending a 12-game road losing streak that persisted since 2018.
Bolstered by Gasser's recent surge featuring a 1.67 ERA over his final six appearances, Milwaukee aims to secure its first franchise championship with the current series lead.
Milwaukee Brewers resonated with 16 shots and Robert Gasser was almost perfect in the mound to lead his team to a 10-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays in the third game of the World Series on Monday night.
