A Brazilian former police chief who fled the country after he was convicted as an accomplice in the attempted coup trial of far-right ex-president Jair Bolsonaro, has been arrested in Paraguay, a police source said Friday.
The police of Paraguay stopped the former director of the Federal Road Viaria Police (PRF) Silvinie Vasques at Silvio Pettirossi International Airport, in Assunción, when he was trying to sail to El Salvador. The Paraguayan authorities published photos in which he appeared wearing green shirts and wearing jeans, along with a local migration agent.
