Brad Guzan takes on new ‘learning role’ as Atlanta United’s club ambassador and sporting advisor

On Thursday, Brad Guzan was named Atlanta United's club ambassador and sporting advisor after retiring last year as the club's all-time leader in appearances, wins, saves and shutouts.
Seeking to learn, Guzan said he wants hands-on exposure to departments to assess a front-office career after earning a master's from the Global Institute of Sport.
Guzan will report directly to chief soccer officer and sporting director Chris Henderson and support soccer operations and community teams while producing internal media projects; he may also pursue TV analyst and media opportunities throughout the year.
A club legend, Guzan's résumé includes winning the 2018 MLS Cup and 2019 U.S. Open Cup with Atlanta, nine Premier League seasons, plus 64 U.S. national team games and three Gold Cups.
Describing it as `a learning role`, Guzan said he will focus short-term on the front office and would `never say never` to coaching in the future.
