AG's Office Releases Body Cam Footage of Fatal Police-Involved Shooting in Baltimore County
The footage shows officers repeatedly talking with Sadie Holman before Corporal James Haddix fired one shot, and the Attorney General’s office is still reviewing charges.
On Friday, October 2, 2026, the Maryland Office of the Attorney General's Independent Investigations Division released body-worn camera footage from the fatal September 3, 2026, police-involved shooting of 21-year-old Sadie Holman in Middle River.
Baltimore County Police officers responded to Carroll Island Road on September 3, 2026, following a report of an armed woman wanted for assault, approaching Holman in her parked vehicle.
Footage shows Corporal James Haddix telling Holman, "If you come out and talk to us and we make sure you don't have any weapons, we." Moments later, she reached for a handgun, prompting Haddix to fire a single shot.
Emergency medical services transported Holman to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead; Haddix remains on routine administrative leave per Baltimore County Police Department policy.
The Independent Investigations Division continues to investigate the circumstances of the shooting and asks anyone with information to contact the IID at 410-576-7070.
