Body of slain Brampton, Ont., man found dumped in Hamilton culvert: police
Police say the homicide unit is working with Peel Region investigators as they review evidence and interview witnesses in Sidhu’s death.
On Wednesday, emergency crews discovered the body of 29-year-old Taranpreet Singh Sidhu in a Stoney Creek culvert near the north end of Fruitland Road, prompting the Hamilton Police Service to launch a homicide investigation.
Sidhu immigrated to Canada from India in 2022 and worked as a truck driver, living in Brampton after previous employment in Halifax.
Investigators confirmed the victim "was not killed in the area where he was found," indicating the body was transported to the culvert site.
The Hamilton police are working with Peel Regional Police to investigate, conducting extensive video canvasses and interviewing witnesses to establish Sidhu's movements.
While detectives continue pursuing investigative avenues, they are not releasing information about the transport vehicle and are asking anyone with contact with Sidhu to come forward.
