A foreign tourist who fell seriously ill at Fimmvörðuháls yesterday was pronounced dead at the scene. This is stated in a statement from the South Iceland Police. The police received a report of a seriously ill tourist before noon yesterday and a Coast Guard helicopter went to the scene along with rescue teams.
