Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav has accused the BJP of rigging the results and vote count for 11 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council (MLC) seats. Akhilesh criticized the defeat of SP candidate Dr. Sanjay Tripathi, while the victory and lead of SP candidates in the Agra and Varanasi seats has raised the political temperature.
In the MLC elections, the BJP has won five seats and is leading in one, while the Samajwadi Party has won two and is leading in three. Compared to 2020, the Samajwadi Party appears to be gaining, while the BJP has seen neither gain nor loss.
