Bilawal calls for an end to debate on administrative units in Sindh
Bilawal says the Sindh Assembly has settled the issue and denies any talks with the federal government on a proposed 28th Constitutional Amendment.
On Tuesday, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari visited Spencer Eye Hospital in Karachi and declared a "full stop" to conversations regarding the creation of new provinces in Sindh, asserting that only the province's people can decide its future.
Following Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi's proposal for administrative reforms in July, The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan has demanded that Karachi be designated as a separate province from Sindh.
The Sindh Assembly has officially rejected attempts to divide the province, with elected representatives affirming "there will be no compromise on Sindh's geographical unity" regarding administrative units.
Responding to queries about a 28th Constitutional Amendment, Bilawal denied federal consultations, while criticizing cabinet members from Karachi for "spreading hatred" rather than improving the city's economic conditions.
Collaborating on public-private projects, the Sindh government and Karachi Metropolitan Corporation are easing financial burdens while Bilawal urged the Centre to prioritize Karachi as the country's economic hub.
