Research Archive Marketplace Launches Worldwide
The platform connects users with verified local contributors and offers access to more than 2,000 registered archives, libraries and special collections worldwide.
BeMySource launched its global research marketplace today, enabling researchers and journalists to remotely access physical archives, libraries, and special collections worldwide without traveling.
Despite rapid digitization, vast amounts of primary source material remain offline or restricted by geography and institutional access rules. BeMySource addresses this barrier by connecting users with verified local contributors who hold legitimate access to archives.
Over 2,000 registered libraries and archives currently participate across Europe, North America, Asia, Latin America, and Africa. The app has been downloaded in more than 40 countries, reflecting growing demand for verified, non-digital research support.
Founder Angelina Giovani-Agha emphasizes the platform relies on real people rather than automated tools. "There's no AI generating answers here," Giovani-Agha said, ensuring every result comes from real documents retrieved by humans.
Users post research requests and get matched with local contributors who fulfill them securely through the app. Contributors benefit through paid access opportunities, creating a distributed, sustainable model for academic research and investigative journalism.
