Belarus president, a top Putin ally, due in Zimbabwe next week
The president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, is set to visit Zimbabwe next week. He is the most high-profile Russian ally, with regard to the invasion of Ukraine, to visit Africa as the war enters its second year. He will be in Zimbabwe from 30 January to 1 February. Russia is in negotiations to use Belarus as a platform to invade Ukraine.
