Behind the iron gates of Putin's 'Little Kremlin' nestled in Sussex countryside
- An opulent mansion in the Sussex countryside, owned by the Russian state since 1946, has become a target for protestors due to the war in Ukraine. The mansion, known as Seacox Heath, has been spray painted in Ukrainian colors and had Ukraine's flag hoisted outside by angry residents.
- The history and current owners of Seacox Heath came as quite a surprise to a local resident who had been living in the area for a long time. The mansion, built in 1871, was gifted to the Soviet Government by English statesman Lord Gushen as a token of gratitude for the Russian sailors who saved his son during the war.
- Multiple CCTV cameras, barbed wire, and the presence of long black Mercedes cars indicate the heightened security around Seacox Heath. Residents have also noticed the constant arrival and departure of these cars through the front gates.
