Martin Heiligen won the run-off election in Würzburg against a CSU woman. He is the first OB to be presented by the Greens in Bavaria more than 40 years ago.

After his clear victory in the final election against the CSU candidate, Martin Heiligen is the first green mayor of Bavaria. Thanks to the support of another party, he gained a good 25 percentage points compared to the first round of the election.

It is a Bavarian-wide novelty: a mayor of the Greens will rule in Würzburg in the future. Martin Heilig won the second round with a lot of advance against the candidate of the CSU.

Martin Heiligen was elected the first Green OB of Bavaria in Würzburg. The former Second Mayor clearly prevails against Judith Roth-Jörg of the CSU in the run-off election.
