Former President Traian Basescu says the leaders of Romania's two major parties, Marcel Ciolacu and Nicolae Ciuca, cannot be compared "like calibre" to some of their predecessors. Basescu believes Romania has become a better place, thanks to the European funds it has attracted, but adds he doesn't like the way the country is managed, citing the "trail on debt" and unrealistic revenue growth in the economy as negative examples.
