Bank of America settles to pay $2.25 million in 7-Eleven ATM fees lawsuit
Eligible Bank of America customers may share the $2.25 million fund after alleged duplicate balance-inquiry fees at FCTI-operated ATMs.
- Bank of America reached a $2.25 million class-action settlement to resolve claims regarding ATM fees charged at 7-Eleven stores, though the Bank denied any wrongdoing in the agreement.
- Filed in 2019, the lawsuit alleged Bank of America improperly assessed two out-of-network fees for balance inquiry requests when customers performed only a single inquiry at ATMs owned by FCTI, Inc., inside 7-Eleven stores.
- Eligible Settlement Class Members include customers who used an FCTI-owned ATM between May 1, 2018, and Nov. 16, 2021, excluding those who received payments from the earlier Weiss v. FCTI lawsuit.
- Current Bank of America account holders will receive automatic payouts without action, while former account holders must file a claim through the settlement website by June 29, 2026, to receive funds.
- The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for Aug. 21, 2026. If approved, eligible customers will receive equal shares of the remaining funds after expenses are deducted.
