The Banco de España has reappointed Banco Santander as the only entity of global systemic importance (EISM) in 2027, a category in which it has been in place since 1 January 2016, and has established its macroprudential capital buffer for that year, as reported in a statement. To make this decision, the supervisor has taken into account the list of banks of global systemic importance (G-SIB) recently published by the Financial Stability Board.
