AWS Looks to Super-Charge AI Agents with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore
NEW YORK, UNITED STATES, JUL 16 – AWS introduces AgentCore to help enterprises deploy scalable AI agents with secure runtime, memory management, and marketplace integration, with early customers including Autodesk and Cisco.
- On July 17, 2025, at the AWS Summit in New York, Amazon introduced Bedrock AgentCore, a comprehensive platform designed to simplify the creation and large-scale deployment of AI agents.
- This launch builds on the Bedrock Agents framework from late 2024 and addresses challenges of deploying dynamic, autonomous agents in production.
- AgentCore delivers an isolated, serverless environment designed for secure deployment and scaling of AI agents, featuring memory and identity management, a code interpreter, browser integration, gateway capabilities, and tools for performance monitoring.
- Swami Sivasubramanian explained that AgentCore enables organizations to transition from trial phases to deploying fully operational AI agents capable of handling vital business functions, while more than 10,000 customers currently utilize Amazon Nova models.
- AWS expects AgentCore and its $200 million investment in generative AI to accelerate enterprise adoption and aims to become the preferred platform for scalable AI agent deployment.
