Audubon woman dies in head-on collision in Mille Lacs County
A head-on collision on Highway 95 killed a 77-year-old passenger and left three others injured, with the driver suspected of DUI.
On Wednesday, a head-on collision on Highway 95 in Greenbush Township killed 77-year-old Linda Diane Rouse of Audubon when a 2017 Nissan Rogue crossed the center line at 3:49 p.m.
Jason Derrick Ziebarth, 52, of St. Cloud was driving the Nissan eastbound when he allegedly crossed the center line; the Minnesota State Patrol suspects alcohol was a factor in his actions.
The westbound 2026 Chevrolet Blazer carried driver Arden Lee Rouse, 79, of Audubon, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and passengers Janet Claire Huntley, 74, and Rouse, the fatal victim.
Emergency responders from the Mille Lacs Sheriff's Office, Princeton Police Department, Princeton Fire Department, and North Memorial EMS assisted at the scene. All four people involved wore seatbelts and airbags deployed.
Arden Lee Rouse was transported to St. Cloud Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, while Ziebarth was taken to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale for life-threatening injuries sustained on dry pavement.
