- After the soldiers refused, the company commander urged them to participate, citing the operation's urgency. "In the incident described, the force refused to carry out the operational activity, and as a result, the activity was canceled," the IDF said, noting "command measures" would be taken.
- Rabbi Dror Aryeh called the sentencing an "abuse of authority," while The Association of Hesder Yeshivas questioned why soldiers were punished for following religious guidelines. A group representing soldiers' wives also demanded their release.
